Veteran Honored as Grand Marshal of Payette Independence Day Parade Hosted by the Payette Community And Senior Center & Payette Chamber Of Commerce
Joseph Katancik, a proud veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, has been named Grand Marshal of the 2025 Payette Independence Day Parade. Known for his deep love of country, Katancik encourages all paradegoers to be very patriotic—cheer, wave our flag, and show respect as it passes by.
Katancik says patriotism was instilled in him from a young age and hopes future generations carry on that same spirit.
Event Highlights:
• 11:00 AM – Parade lineup at 2nd Ave N. & Main St.
• 12:00 PM – Parade begins down Main Street, ending at Central Park
• 1:00–9:00 PM – Vendors & food trucks at Kiwanis Park
• 1:00–5:00 PM – Family Fun Day (carnival games, face painting, treats)
• 2:00–5:00 PM – Kids races (ages 3–14)
• Food Drive: Donate 2 cans of protein-rich food for a free hotdog meal (One per family please)
• 5:00–9:00 PM – Music in the Park featuring Lauren and The Nostalgics, hosted by the Payette Chamber of Commerce. Local vendors and a bar by Double Diamond round out the evening.
