In a display of community generosity, Weiser Classic Candy hosted a Friendsgiving fundraiser with the Boys & Girls Club of the Western Treasure Valley, turning a modest day of giving into a $1,000 win for local youth.
Patrick, owner of Weiser Classic Candy, kicked things off by donating 10% of all store sales during the event and then matched that amount himself. The giving didn’t stop there. A community donor stepped in to match the total again, multiplying the original $250 raised into a $1,000 check for the Boys & Girls Club.
As part of the event, new monthly giving donors also signed up while enjoying sweet treats and lunch at the popular candy shop and deli, located at 449 State Street in downtown Weiser.
Every dollar, every new donor, every gesture matters. The Club is still working to raise $7,500 in order to unlock a generous $50,000 matching challenge from an anonymous donor. Every contribution brings them closer to that goal and the impact it will have on hundreds of local kids and teens.
