By Dorothy Evans of the Weiser Lions
The Weiser Lions Club, now in its 92 nd year, has a glowing history of helping our
community, our state and the less fortunate around the globe. But in order for us to
help others, we need others to help us. The employees of the Weiser branch of
Columbia Bank do just that.
For years, manager Terri Fritts and her staff have allowed us to keep our used-glasses
collection box on their shelf. Next to that box is our collection box for aluminum pop
tops for the Ronald McDonald House in Boise. Two years ago, Columbia Bank was the
major drop site for our sock drive and this year for our clothing drive to aid sexually
abused children. Through their help, we collected hundreds of socks and sets of
clothes donated by the generous people of Weiser. The socks and clothes benefited
Rose Advocates.
To show its appreciation to Terri and her staff, on September 7 th the Weiser Lions
presented them with a check for $200 to regift to any charitable cause they choose.
Thank you, employees of Columbia Bank. You’re good friends to the Lions and to
Weiser.
