In a wonderful display of community commitment, the 100 Friends That Care group held its fourth quarterly Awards Ceremony on Monday night, spotlighting the three contributions of local nonprofits that enrich the lives of Weiser residents, including Weiser’s Main Street America and the Architectural Preservation Committee. This gathering was an opportunity to honor organizations that work tirelessly to foster a sense of belonging and support for all community members.
The winner at this quarter’s event was the Boys & Girls Club of Western Treasure Valley – Weiser Clubhouse, located within the Weiser Christian Church. Their mission is: to inspire and empower youth and teens through engaging and impactful programs, enabling them to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
In 2024, the Weiser Clubhouse served 107 registered members from 1st to 5th grade, providing vital outreach through events that reached a total of 572 local children. The Club ensures that kids are nourished during their time there, serving 1,917 meals and 1,421 snacks throughout the year.
To continue its mission and expand its impact, the Boys & Girls Club offers various ways for the community to get involved. Residents are encouraged to visit the Club for a firsthand look at their programs, attend their annual fundraiser, “Boots & Blues,” as well as the Weiser Golf Tournament, “Par-Tee” with the Club. Additionally, individuals can join the “Champions for Children” monthly giving campaign, volunteer with the youth, or help spread the word through social media.
Community engagement plays a vital role in the success of the 100 Friends Who Care initiative, which provides a critical lifeline for local nonprofits like the Boys & Girls Club. This grassroots movement brings Weiser and Washington County residents together to support organizations that truly make a difference.
Local organizations affiliated with 501(c)(3) nonprofits are invited to reach out for potential future donations. Those interested in joining the 100 Friends group or learning more about how to support community initiatives are encouraged to contact Kelly Haun at 208-573-0812.
As Weiser continues to honor and uplift its local nonprofits, the 100 Friends That Care initiative shows the power of teamwork and compassion, proving that together, they can achieve great things for their community.
