Weiser’s Twentieth Century Club favored two of its own Friday, September 11.
Ruth Reeves and Shiz Nakamura were taken by surprise when they were seated as
special Guests of Honor at the regular meeting.
After the ladies sang “Happy Birthday” to Ruth, turning 99 this month, cake and
ice cream were served for the occasion.
Shiz was chosen by the club as this year’s recipient of a chrysanthemum in
recognition of her years of contributions to Weiser.
Fond memories of their long lives were recalled and celebrated as special tributes
were paid to each of them by fellow members of the 20th Century Club.
