The Washington County Preamble states:
“The WASHINGTON COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE is committed to protecting the freedoms enjoyed by the citizens of Washington County. We believe that the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Idaho and the rights enumerated there-in, are essential to those freedoms. We see the Republican Party as the best party to protect those documents and freedoms. We will seek to recruit, support, and elect candidates that value these things. We will also, strive to educate residents on the importance of our rights and how their efforts are essential to the continued protection of our freedoms and livelihood.”
So how does your elected committee uphold this preamble and work for the citizens of Washington County? The committee works year-round to:
● Educate the citizens of Washington County with regard to those running for elected office throughout the state by holding candidate forums. ● Working to elect candidates that uphold our rights and values by donating to their campaigns, working on their campaigns, and hosting fundraisers for their campaigns.
● Ensure that the voters of Washington County have a voice at the State level in the adoption and formation of new resolutions, rules, and legislation. This is achieved when our Washington County delegates vote on important matters at state conventions.
● The WCRRC hosts an annual Lincoln Day event attended by numerous elected officials. This allows the citizens of Washington County to meet with sitting and perspective office holders and discuss important matters affecting not only our great State, but our small county and its citizens. These events feature keynote speakers that address and educate citizens regarding import topics, such as land preservation, protection of the Second Amendment, and water rights.
Did you know that should a vacancy arise in the office of a County Commissioner, Prosecuting Attorney, Treasurer, Assessor, Sheriff, or County Clerk, the Washington County Central Committee is to recommend the nominee to fill the vacancy?
