Angel Wings is Gifted a Van to Transport Cancer Patients

“In what has been a year of struggles and loss for many, including Angel Wings Network, Inc and its family of volunteers and cancer warriors, it has also been a year of blessings. We lost one of our beloved cancer patients earlier this year. His name was Roy Story and we transported him to cancer treatment for nearly a year,” shared Executive Director, Mabel Dobbs.

For years, Angel Wings Network has needed a vehicle that they could use for the “Wheels to Recovery” Transportation program.  The volunteer drivers donate the use of their personal vehicles while Angel Wings Network provides fuel cards to take the cancer patients to life-saving treatment. The financial resources have not been able to support such a large expense as purchasing a vehicle and maintaining it.

“When Roy’s family was told of our need, his brother Denny contacted me and asked her to come by and visit. I left with keys, the van title and in happy tears over this generous gift from all of Roy’s family,” beamed Dobbs.

Angel Wings Network, Inc has submitted a request to the local Dodge dealership, Hometown Motors, hoping that they will be willing to help with the needed repairs and tires so that volunteers can begin to utilize this amazing gift for the cancer patients who need transported to treatment. Dobbs has high hopes that they will be willing to donate such a generous gift.

“We will miss Roy but the generosity of his family will keep him in our hearts at Angels Wings for years to come. Thank you, Denn Story and all of Roy’s family,” shared Dobbs.
