Fruitland High School Hazing Case Update

The Payette County Sheriff’s Office has completed its investigation into the hazing incident with the Fruitland Football Team. This incident occurred in three jurisdictions (City of Fruitland, City of Ontario, and Payette County). Our report lists eight suspects (3 – 18-year-olds, 4 – 17-year-olds, and 1 – 16-year-old). These suspects have not been formally charged with a crime. I will defer to the Payette County Prosecuting Attorney to release the suspects’ names when it is appropriate. The Payette County Sheriff’s Office is committed to working with the Fruitland School District and the Payette County Prosecutor to see that this incident is resolved in a way that discourages hazing in high school sports.

Sincerely,

Sheriff Andy Creech
