“Kellen’s Gnomes”
You might be wondering what art; sports and gnome making have in common.
Meet Kellen Ray Hundersmarck.
He is a 10-year-old that has a passion for anything new and he loves sports. He’s involved in wrestling, football, baseball, basketball and golf.
Kellen visited ArtfulBon, Art Studio in September 2023 and made his first gnome with the help of Bonnie Akbar, Owner of ArtfulBon.
Kellen was so intrigued by the gnomes he asked Bonnie if he could make a gnome rather than paint a box with his siblings. She was so very patient with him and he was so delighted with the end result that he gave the gnome to his Mom as a gift.
As they got ready to leave, Kellen tells his Grandma that he’s going to go into the gnome business. He asked her how much he should sale them for and she responded enough to make it worth your time, have a little bit of a profit, and making sure that your supplies are being paid for.
The very next day, Kellen added supplies into his Moms Amazon cart to get items to make gnomes. They ended up collecting supplies through family members that had extra fabric and purchased other supplies as needed.
Kellen had a bright idea!! He would make the gnomes to off-set expenses for his sports. He is a member of the Small-Town Wrestling Club (Weiser, Idaho) that compete in competitions out of the area. He wanted to help his parents with the expenses for travel and hotel and other essentials.
In October, Kellen attended the 41st Quilt Show in Boise, Idaho with his Grandma. He had a table set up with all of his gnomes and a story to tell. He made $280.00 at the Quilters Show. He even started a short story about his gnomes and made great conversation with everyone that stopped by to talk with him.
Since that time, Kellen has been to several craft shows, displaying his hard work. He now

He has 111 followers and is looking to get 100 likes on his page to give out a free gnome for the holidays. You can go onto his page and look at his recent video on his gnomes.
Kellen has raised approximately $1,000 dollars since September selling his gnomes.
