Huge “thank you” to all those who participated in the 2021 Sloane Weldon tennis tournament!
Whether you played or were there to support someone else, we really appreciate your involvement. We had the most ever number of participants this year. The event has grown from about 14 players 10 years ago to 132 players this year. Participants were from Weiser, Fruitland, Payette, Vale, Baker City, Nampa, Emmett and Boise. The new “College Night” division was a hit, and the other divisions — Just-For-Fun, Open, High School, and Middle School — continue to be popular.
The event generated enough to fund 5 more scholarships again next year. We will be doing it again next Memorial Day weekend. We feel it is a great way to remember and honor not only Sloane, but also all those loved ones who have impacted our lives.
