A group of fifty-seven parents and students gathered at Westside Elementary School in Payette on Tuesday, December 12th to enjoy a night of Pizza and participating in The Hour of Code 2023. The Hour of Code is a program sponsored by Code.org and their partners to provide people with an introduction to writing computer code while working through fun online activities free of charge every December. The 4th and 5th grade students have been learning to write Java Script doing lessons through Code.org online as part of the STEM lessons during the 21st Century After-school program.
The parents who attended were impressed with the knowledge that their children have gained working with the Code.org program, and the students were very excited to show their parents how to work through the activities!
