Mary Johnson, a married mother of three grown children, established M Tax Advisors after many years of performing freelance work nationally. “I’ve worked for multiple companies in multiple states doing their bookkeeping, getting organization for taxes, creating their responses to send to the IRS or State Tax agencies, and preparing their taxes, all while doing standard administrative work for other clients,” Johnson shared. She has lived and worked in Weiser, Idaho for the past 18 years.
After focusing on bookkeeping, tax strategy, and organization, Johnson received her Enrolled Agents license to practice in front of the IRS. “Getting my EA meant focusing exclusively on Audit Support, Bookkeeping, and Tax Strategy with Tax Preparation becoming an added bonus,” she explained. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Colorado Technical University and has worked with brick-and-mortar businesses, including local businesses like Ridley’s and Zions Bank.
Building a business has taken years of hard work, dedication, and willingness to dive into many different projects and businesses. “Building my business included national and international firms doing everything from building lists to answering phones, admin support to inventory management and everything between.” Johnson has worked hard to acquire a lengthy resume of experience over 18 years while raising her family, working at the same time, and finishing her education. Now that her children are grown, she is excited to put more focus on the new business.
Johnson recently joined the Weiser Chamber of Commerce to better stay in touch with fellow business owners and support the community. “I hope to gain more knowledge about and help uplift Weiser through Chamber events,” she also commented.
M Tax Advisors is located at 701 E. Commercial St., Suite G in Weiser, which is down the hall from Weiser Wellness Center. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are necessary for any in-depth planning, strategy, audit support or tax preparation. Initial consultations are free with pricing varying on the service needed. After hours and weekend scheduling is available upon request.
