Tip off happened at Weiser High School during January 20th-21st. Tipoff is the winter sports equivalent to homecoming where there are fun activities and dress up days where students can go all out on whatever they want to wear coordinating with the theme. For tip off 2022, the themes were “white out” for Thursday and “red out” for Friday because of the tradition of wearing red on Fridays. During the assemblies for tip off there were buff puff games. It is a lot like powder puff which is when the boys coach the girls in football, but this is when the girls coach the boys to do volleyball. The way it works is that the teams are divided by class. It normally starts as seniors against freshmen and then juniors against sophomores. Then the winners go against each other and the people that lost go against each other.
Throughout the games there were memorable moments like when the seniors sat down mid game and then the freshman got a point. Some of the games were either a close match or won by a landslide. In the end for tip off 2022 seniors won first place, sophomores placed second, juniors placed third and freshmen came in last place.
