Farm Equipment USA recently had their Grand Opening of the Fruitland location where Living in the News .Com was there to share the excitement. The business carries a large selection of new and pre-owned inventory: tractors, agricultural equipment, service and parts. Folks gathered to welcome the business, honor customers and the farming community with food, drinks, and fun. There was a fantastic flag raising ceremony performed by local veterans. They also put on a fun demo of their equipment which included a car crushing!
Ben Nelson, president of the company, was born in farm country Colorado and his family moved to Idaho when he was a young boy. After moving to Idaho, the farm life went by the wayside as Nelson went to work in town until about 26 years old. “I had an older man tell me one day to do what you love at a young age. Farm Equipment USA started about 15 years ago in my bedroom,” Nelson shared. He started farming and custom farming for developers before the crash of real estate in 2007 and 2008. “The developers didn’t have any money to pay us at the end of the year. We were without any work and very little money. My wife and I continued to pray.” With faith in God that something would come together for their family, Nelson, his wife, and five daughters, they kept praying.
Waking up one morning, Nelson felt the calling from God to start selling equipment. “It sounds crazy. It wasn’t an audible voice, but an internal voice. It’s hard to explain,” he shared. It took one month to make their first sale and the business took off after that. “There have always been challenges just like any business. Our plan was to help the farmer succeed from the start. We wanted to provide farm equipment at a competitive price.”
Nelson commented that they have an incredible team that he calls their “tribe” that truly care about the American farmer. The tribe serves customers with their heart and soul in such a way that customers become more like friends and partners in farming. The business has grown incredibly fast and in addition to the Fruitland location opening, there is another store currently being built in Twin Falls, Idaho.
“Our goal is to ensure that every American farmer is successful,” their website states. Be sure to check out the website for articles, tutorials, videos, and more information on products and services. www.farmequipmentusa.com. The business is also on Facebook, so give them a “like” and follow!
