Weiser Memorial Hospital is offering a free Community Conversation about Suicide Prevention: Paradigm Shifts & Being Part of the Solution.
This will be at the Weiser Public Library, on Monday August 14th, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. This is free and open to the public.
The guest speaker Dr. Kent Corso a licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified behavior analyst.
He has researched, developed and trained others to implement evidence-based methods of suicide prevention and intervention nationally and internationally.
Life is full of rewards and blessings. When we pursue our goals and stick to our values, we are more capable of overcoming the challenges and obstacles we will face throughout life. But sometimes life gets really hard; some people even think of giving up.
Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation invites community members, business owners, civic leaders, coaches, parents, and families (youths 10 and older) to address a topic we usually avoid. Two teenagers and a fourth grader will share their first-hand experience with suicide. Attendees will learn how to reduce suicide risk in Weiser in simple, practical ways, ensuring that Weiser and its youths have the best chances of prospering.
