Thursday is a day of giving thanks. Friday is a day of savings at the big retailers. Monday is a day of saving online. And this year, December 1, 2015 is GIVING TUESDAY a worldwide day of giving during this blessed time of year. We are a country of givers, but when you write that check, do you always know where your donations are going and how they are being used. Before you break out that wallet or pocket book, ask if your donations are
staying local, or at least regional and does the money do what you want it to do?
Check out the organizations you are giving to and ask questions. Visit the organizations and check them out online. See if they have a webpage, or Facebook page, or Twitter page etc. And check to see if they are a 501-©3 non-profit.
There is much need in our wonderful rural communities and there are some great folks doing great work to help those in need. So as you give this year, think about your local non- profits and
organizations like:
Weiser Senior Center, Rose Advocates, Angel Wings Network, Inc., Your Local Veterans Groups
