There were about 30 people at the community animal shelter meeting Monday, October 10th, 2022. Citizens with great ideas!
“It is so important for everyone to realize that this is a community project and YOUR input could sure help us out. People will be there for short term projects and leave or realize this project is not for them” said Cheri Gordon.
The community is welcomed to attend the next meeting on Monday, November 7th, from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the Vendome.
The committee believes that there are some possibilities in the city for a temporary shelter. They want to find a piece of property and see if planning and zoning committee can make it work. An idea for a temporary shelter, was a donated single wide trailer, that could be put on some property.
Within the committee is a fundraising committee that has many ideas floating around. They are looking for judges for a Halloween contest that they want to have. Contact Karen or Sandy at Marbella’s, (208) 630-3733.
Another need is someone that knows how to rebuild a website! This is an immediate need for the committee. It is costly to put pictures of found animals up for adoption in the newspapers. Is there a business willing to help sponsor? Contact Liz Mowry.
The committee is always looking for volunteers to step up and help. At the meetings they divide into working groups. No idea or thought is silly!! Hope to see everyone including new faces at the next meeting.
