Annex Charter School Board Engages Community in Superintendent Selection Process

The Annex School Board of Directors recently (3/7/24) conducted a Superintendent Community Forum to involve certified, classified staff, and community members in the selection of the next Annex Charter School Superintendent. The forum provided attendees with the opportunity to meet the two candidates, Joe Burris and Kim Voile, individually, listen to their introductions, and engage in a question and answer session.

Following the candidate presentations, attendees were equipped with questionnaires prompting them to detail what they admired about the candidates’ qualities and responses, as well as express any concerns about their presentations and abilities. This structured feedback mechanism aimed to gather comprehensive perspectives from all involved parties.

The two candidates, Burris and Voile, engaged in separate meetings with both staff and community members, fostering direct interaction and a better understanding of their potential leadership styles and vision for the school.

The Board of Directors plans to enter an executive session to deliberate on the feedback and insights collected during the forum. The selection of the next Annex Charter School Superintendent is expected to be announced by March 20th, indicating a swift but inclusive decision-making process with a focus on the valued input from the school community.

This transparent and engaging selection process signals the school board’s commitment to involving stakeholders in shaping the future leadership of Annex Charter School and ensuring that the chosen candidate aligns with the expectations and aspirations of those directly impacted by this decision.
