Our very own Weiser High School senior Beau Shields has committed to play football for Southern Arkansas University. Shields moved here this year from Florida and began his senior year football journey as a Wolverine. Shields expressed how he loved the support of the community and how different things are here than it was in Florida because the support from the community was more personal, everyone knows everyone, and if you don’t personally know someone on the field, someone you know does. Shields loved playing football this year with his team, making it to the quarter-finals in the state championship against Sugar Salem. Shields had many offers from colleges wanting him to commit; after visiting Southern Arkansas University and making a connection with the coach, he decided this is where he wanted to continue his football career. He’ll always be a Wolverine deep down no matter where he goes, and we are all proud of his many accomplishments.
