Courtney Lynn Shaw-Obituary

Courtney Lynn Shaw, 46, of Baker City, OR, slipped away on the bright, sunny afternoon of June 1, 2024, in Nampa, Idaho. Courtney, affectionately known as Nookie (origin unknown) by her loving family, entered this world in a hurry in the early morning hours of April 24, 1978, in Boise, Idaho. She was in such a hurry, in fact, that she was born in the back of a station wagon on the way to the hospital. She was born the fourth of eight daughters to Jean Box-McCallum, and oh, was she ever loved! At the age of three, Courtney was adopted by her loving, adoring daddy, Wally McCallum. She was raised in Weiser, Idaho, & graduated from Weiser High School in 1997. Courtney’s life was full of challenges, but it was also full of blessings. The greatest of these blessings were her three sons, Edward Isaiah, Lester Lynn, & Liam Reese. Being a mother made Courtney truly happy! And oh, how she loved and cherished her boys! They were her heart, her soul, and her world. Courtney dearly loved animals, and animals loved her back. They could sense her pure, kind heart. Given the opportunity, Courtney would have filled her home and yard with animals of all kinds and sizes…..but especially dogs & cats! Courtney is survived by her three beautiful sons: Edward Isaiah Huerta, Lester Lynn Dennis, & Liam Reese Shaw, all of Baker City, Oregon; her loving parents: Jean Box-McCallum and Wally & Irene McCallum, all of Weiser, Idaho; her adoring sisters: Lorna McNay of Roy, Utah, Tina(Doug)Freeman of Eagle, Idaho, Teresa(VerNon)Chandler of Weiser, Idaho, Crystal(Kurtis)Hornbeck of Mills, Wyoming, Amber(Marc)Proctor of Fremont, Iowa, Alisa McCallum of Weiser, Idaho, and Heather McCallum of Eldon, Iowa; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins. Courtney was preceded in death by two sisters: Tracy Jean & Heidi Alaura, and two brothers: Gregory Vaughn & Timothy Christopher; a special brother-in-love: Bobby Valencia; an aunt: Judy McDaniel; an uncle: Robert Box; and her maternal & paternal grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held on June 5, 2024, at 1 PM at the Weiser Train Depot. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to your local humane society in our dear Courtney’s name.
