Many readers are familiar with Angel Wings Network, Inc and the services they provide for local cancer patients. For those who are not familiar, Angel Wings Network is a 501c3 nonprofit based in Weiser, Idaho and services extend to many other rural communities within a 70-mile radius. Approximately 17 rural towns benefit from this organization.
The first of two major annual fundraisers is coming up this spring. The annual Idaho Gives event is scheduled for May 2nd through May 5th. Idaho Gives is a statewide event that brings awareness to nonprofits throughout Idaho. Angel Wings participates every year, and they concurrently host an online auction event. In 2021, the auction event was a HUGE success! Executive Director, Mabel Dobbs, is excited to start preparations for the 2022 online auction event. Here is where YOU come in!
Volunteers of Angel Wings will soon be contacting individuals, organizations, and businesses in an effort to procure donated auction items and cash donations. They need the help of the community to put this event together and offer some amazing packages for auction. Weiser and surrounding areas have been so incredible with their support in previous years, and volunteers are confident that they will see more folks step up to help.
Any business or organization that donates will be eligible to have their business logo posted on their social media pages, website, and the auction site in appreciation for the generous donation.
What kind of items make a great donation? The possibilities are endless but here are some ideas: music or sports memorabilia, home accessories, restaurant gift certificates, home accessories, event experiences, fashion accessories, sporting game tickets, travel packages, gift baskets of all kinds, local artistry, wine packages, food baskets, gym memberships, specialty classes, nail or spa gift certificates, handbags, photography sessions, handmade items, golf packages, etc. No item is too small or insignificant.
After the auction items have been collected and listed on the auction website, buyers will have a chance to preview the items before the auction goes live. Mark your calendars for April 25th, which is the day the auction will open. It closes May 5th at 5pm. Donations for the auction can be dropped off at the office during office hours at 773 W. Main St., Weiser, ID (Monday through Thursday, 10am to 2pm). Please do not leave items outside. If delivery isn’t possible, please call the office and arrange for a volunteer to come pick up items.
