Frieda Borth Soon to Celebrate Her 100th Birthday!

“Frieda Borth was born February 15th, 1921 in Port Angela’s Washington.  She was six out of nine children.  Frieda’s parents were farmers and traveled all over the United States.  She was 7 years old when they moved to Fruitland, Idaho.  Later they moved to Ontario, Oregon where she met and married her first husband at age 19.  Frieda lost her husband and became a widow after 19 years of marriage.  Later, Frieda went on to marry two other times, once again, found herself widows and living alone on the ranch.  Frieda decided to lease out the acreage to find time for herself.

Frieda and her best friend started their travel experiences taking cruise ship vacations and traveling to 6 European countries in 17 days.  When home in Weiser, she spent her time at the golf course and the Weiser bowling alley and was in the ladies’ club where she played first baseman on their baseball team.  Volunteering at the local library, the hospital and she was also a member of the Lutheran church, where she sang in the choir and played the keyboard and accordion.  She later moved into town buying and remodeling a home where she lived well into her 90’s.

It was then that she chose to make the Weiser Cottages her home in August 2011.  In 2020, Frieda’s brother Reuben and his wife Betty made the Weiser Cottages their home.  Frieda is surrounded by friends and family.  The staff and residents of the Weiser Cottages would like to wish Frieda a happy 100th birthday!

Happy Birthday, you are loved, Frieda!”
