Friends of the Library Make a Difference

Weiser’s “Friends of the Library” met Tuesday and firmed up plans for the upcoming Fine Arts & Craft Show to be held at the Vendome Friday, Nov. 20 & Saturday, Nov 21. The group was excited about their raffle item – a jazzy collapsible bicycle that was donated by a library patron and upgraded with some neat additions by the organization.  They sold their first twelve tickets to one of the new members!  Tickets are now available at the library. The bicycle display & tickets for the raffle will also be at the Vendome show, so stop by to check out the bike and buy a chance.
Members also reviewed their recent contributions to Weiser’s Public Library.  If you choose to do some reading on site, the redecorated reading nook has a beautiful new area rug and five comfortable chairs. Friends of the Library funds also allowed some new and popular DVDs to be added to the library shelves.  Then, Pioneer School students received a generous donation towards the purchase of “Books for Bingo.”  This group is proud of the work they do to encourage a lifetime of reading and learning in our Weiser world.
