n a heartwarming tradition, the Ho Ho Express 2023 brought the spirit of the season alive by whisking children away on a nostalgic bus ride to their shopping destination. Laughter and smiles filled the air, reassuring everyone that the magic of the holidays is very much alive.
This annual project, a cherished Christmas tradition, focuses on providing children from the community with a special shopping experience. Escorted by Weiser High School students, affectionately referred to as “Elf Helpers,” 280 excited kids embarked on a festive adventure, armed with $50 each to spend on themselves.
The children and 188 Elves boarded 10 school buses early Saturday morning. The convoy, led by the Weiser City Police Department, made its way to Walmart in Ontario, Oregon. The Elf Helpers students, expressed their joy in assisting the kids, promising to return next year for another memorable day.
The delight on the children’s faces as they shopped and bonded with their Elf companions was truly priceless. The success of the Ho Ho Express 2023 is a testament to the community, Santa and the numerous volunteers who worked tirelessly to orchestrate this magical program.
