Lawrence Alfred Martell, 70 of Ontario, Oregon, passed away suddenly on July 10, 2023. Larry was born on May 28, 1953 in Paterson, New Jersey to Frank and Elizabeth Martell. He was the third of their six children. He graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in 1971. During that time he played baseball. After high school Larry worked for his father’s construction company and spent some time in the U.S. Air Force. When his father relocated to Iowa, Larry followed. Eventually he moved to Oregon, where he spent the rest of his life. In Oregon he worked at Jaramillo Asphalt, Ontario Asphalt and Heinz Frozen Foods. Larry enjoyed growing a garden, bowling and playing softball. Driving in the mountains to get wood was one of his favorite past times.
On December 24, 2006, he married Ida Mae Heidelberger in Las Vegas. They lived in Oregon on property adjacent to her parents. For years he and Ida drove her niece Patti to rodeos around Idaho and Oregon.
Larry is survived by his wife Ida, his two daughters Jennifer Wimberly and Amber Bossemeyer (Scott) and their daughter, sister Linda Schneider, his brother Frank (Wendy), sister Nora Hardwick (Steve), brother Ernest (Cynthia), sister Joyce Alexander (Chris), and sister-in-law Janet Wiechec (Dave).
