I would like to give everyone that attended our Lincoln Day Event Fundraiser a great big Thank You. In my opinion we had a great evening of good information, good candidates represented, good visiting, good food and fun. A big Thank you to all the precinct committee members that help organize, decorate, sell tickets and attend all the meetings that led to such a fun evening. A big Thank you to all the sponsors that help us with their funds. It was the first year we have asked for sponsorships and we really appreciate all those that stepped up and helped.

Abraham Lincoln said, “the ballot is stronger than the bullet”. We are in an election year. The presidential caucus is coming up on March 2, 12:00 noon at the Weiser High School, Midvale High School and the Cambridge Fair Grounds Building. All registered republicans will receive a card in the mail that tells you what precinct you are in, were to vote and when. You need to bring the card, your driver’s license and come be a part of choosing the republican presidential candidate that will be on the November ballot. Plan to attend, visit with your friends and Vote. The Primary election will be on May 21st this year. Take time to get to know the candidates that are running for office. We have a Senate, two legislative, and three county positions, and all the republican precinct committee members are up for election. Remember what Abraham Lincoln said, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroy ourselves.” Benjamin Franklin response to Elizabeth Willing Powel’s question: “Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?’ He replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.” The only way we can keep our county free is to vote in good people that uphold the Constitution. Thank you, Kirk Chandler
