Nestled between Ruszoni’s Pizza and The Cobbler sits a new curiosity shop, The Rusty Raven. Lindsey Mitchell the owner and operator of The Rusty Raven opened her shop recently at 536 State Street in Weiser. She stated, “I knew when I came to Weiser and drove downtown this is where I wanted to be.”
Mitchell has owned other shops in the past and knew she wanted to run one in Weiser. She observed what the town had to offer and what she could maybe put in her shop, “I noticed there weren’t a lot of places to shop for gift-type things that are unique.” Besides offering a few antique items and some estate jewelry, The Rusty Raven also offers other new gift-type options such as coffees, teas, candles, pottery and handmade cutting boards. “I am trying to figure out what Weiser has a need for so I am carrying a little of everything. As I see what the need is I may faze out things and bring new things in. I hand pick everything that comes into my shop.”
She shared that her shop is “An eclectic grouping of everything for everybody.” She stated, “So for those who like the antique and vintage I have things like estate jewelry. But, then I realized people don’t always want used things to give as a gift. When you buy a gift for someone you might not want it to be used, so I have the other items. My shop is just a unique place to get a gift.” The Rusty Raven is open Wednesday through Friday from 11am to 5pm and Saturday from 11am until 4pm. Go check it out.
