Press Release: New Plymouth names Wade Wilson as their new Superintendent

At their February 12 board meeting, the New Plymouth Board of Trustees approved hiring Wade Wilson as their new Superintendent, replacing Wil Overgaard, who has been serving as an interim superintendent for the district this year. Wade will assume the post April 1, 2024.

Mr. Wilson comes to New Plymouth after having worked the past 33 years for the Weiser School District. He started his career teaching high school math and coaching basketball and baseball at Weiser High School in 1990. He became the Pioneer Elementary School Principal in 2001, a role he held until being named Superintendent in 2019. He takes over as Superintendent for the New Plymouth School District with his vast knowledge and years of experience in education working in rural Idaho.

Wade is a 1985 graduate of Orofino H.S. and follows in the footsteps of his father Skip Wilson, a long time educator and school

administrator in Orofino, Idaho and in the state of Washington.

Wade is a 1990 graduate of the University of Idaho and picked up his Master’s in Education Leadership from Northwest Nazarene in 2000. He added his Education Specialist degree from Boise State University in 2019. Wade and his wife Angi have three daughters (Bailey, Lindsi, and Lacey) and two grandchildren.
