Elks lodge #1690 Ontario has been busy! The Elks partnered with Treasure Valley Classical Academy fourth graders in Fruitland who created thoughtful holiday cards for local veterans wishing them a Merry Christmas and thanking them for their service.
A local veteran in Ontario lost nearly everything in a house fire back in October, the Elks stepped up and made a cash donation to assist with the deposit on a home to rent.
The Elks sponsored local families in need giving 7 children an an unforgettable Christmas, including Christmas dinner from the FA group. A grandmother of two of these children called upon the Elks and said she heard Elks help people. From there the Elks took action collecting enough money from their next weekly meeting to provide presents for these children along with other donations. The motto Elks Share-Elks Care rings true within this lodge.
December 16th the annual hoop shoot hosted by the Elks and held at the Fruitland middle school was a success thanks to Elk volunteers and the Fruitland boys basketball team supporting this event.
The lodge has hosted holiday parties throughout December and their calendar is quickly filling up for spring events.
Lodge #1690 is still collecting donations of new children clothing, in all sizes for the department of health services go bags for foster children. If you would like to participate those items can be dropped off at the lodge through the end of January.
The upcoming New Year’s Eve bash charity fundraiser event is December 31, 6pm at Elks Lodge in Ontario partnering with the FA group that supports local cancer patients. All proceeds from the event stay local to help those in need.
On January 20th there is a Sip-N-Dip event, early bird special $35 per person if you book and pay by January 10, regular price $40 per person January 20th @ 4 PM Elks Lodge Ontario Oregon, proceeds from this event goes to local charities through the Elks Lodge.
The quarterly blood drive through the American Red Cross is January 26th, 12-5 PM at the Ontario Elks Lodge

Did you know that you can visit your local Elks Lodge three times for dinners and events before becoming a member? The Elks Lodge is a private club, founded on the principles of charity justice, brotherly love, and Fidelity. Elk members are a close family of volunteers within the community who donate their time and give back to those in need with the motto Elks care Elks share. Elk members support veterans, national Memorial state projects, children through scholarships hoop shoot, drug awareness, the American, essay contest, dictionary project, and the antlers program. Elk members give selflessly to the community on a regular basis, helping others in need whenever they can. The first Elks Lodge opened in the year 1868 with only male members. In 1995 the lodge changed their bylaws to allow female membership. The local Ontario , Oregon Lodge consist of members throughout Malheur and Payette county. Each lodge has a one time annual membership fee just over $100 which allows your spouse to attend events with you.
