he chamber opened applications to any member that is a non-profit and needed help with fundraising. They received a total of 10 applications. “It was a very hard decision to choose just one nonprofit to help, but we really felt the center’s Meals and Wheels program aligned with our goal of helping raise some immediate funds for a non-profit. We feature a nonprofit every December to partner with them and raise much needed funds at the end of the year. This organization really resonated with us due to the rising costs of food and the amount of seniors in need in our community.”-Krista King, Executive Director
Kathy Patrick, Board Member for the Payette Community & Senior, did a presentation on their Meals on Wheels Program at the Fruitland Chamber of Commerce’s December Holiday Luncheon. They help seniors in both the Fruitland and Payette communities but the funding they normally receive has drastically been cut recently.
They in desperate need of monetary donations to continue this program. They also have a food pantry for anyone in need and are asking for food donations to stock it.
You can drop off any canned or dry foods items, even eggs to their location 137 N. Main St. Payette.
The Fruitland Chamber will be promoting their fundraising campaign running now through December 20th and will be matching funds up to $1,000.
