The Weiser Scout House

The Weiser Scout House has provided a place where Weiser’s Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts can meet and display their history.

Built in the early forties, the house was originally built for the Girl Scouts; operating under the name of Girl Scouts of Weiser, Inc. shortly thereafter, The Boy Scout Troop was invited to utilize the building. Over the decades, the Boys have continued to call it home.

Troop 350, sponsored by the Weiser Lions Club, continues to be active. Since 1980 the Lions Club has paid the monthly utilities and assists with other Scouting costs. Recently, the Lions have sponsored a Girls Troop. They are committed to support Weiser’s youth.

As with all properties, periodic maintenance needs to happen. The trees planted in the front yard are dangerously overgrown. Tom Anderson has received a bid to trim these trees; while he was able to obtain a great deal, the cost is still a $1,000,

Boy Scouts in Weiser have a long history of quietly helping to improve our community. Traveling around town, the benefits of past Scout projects are everywhere.

While the Scout House account has some funds, if you would be able to assist with any of the cost of the tree trimming, please call me or send any donation to Bob Barber, 1385 Pioneer Rd, Weiser, ID 83672.

Thank you.
