IDAHO STATE POLICE NEWS RELEASE
On June 5, 2021, at approximately 3:35 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle crash, northbound on US95 at Goodrich Road, south of Council.
Michael Garcia, 26, of Nampa was traveling northbound on US95 in a 2006 Pontiac G6. Sarah Jacobson, 42, of Cambridge, was traveling southbound on US95 in a 2016 Jeep Compass. Andrew Johnson, 73, of Regina, Saskatchewan, was traveling southbound on US95 in a 2017 Freightliner.
Garcia crossed over the center line, Jacobson attempted to avoid Garcia’s vehicle by moving into the northbound lane of travel, where Garcia’s vehicle side swiped Jacobson’s, and came to rest on the right shoulder. Garcia continued northbound in the southbound lanes, colliding with Johnson’s vehicle, coming to rest on the right shoulder, partially blocking the northbound lane of travel.
Garcia was transported via air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Jacobson and passenger, Brandy Pixer, 43, of Council were transported via ground ambulance Weiser Memorial Hospital in Weiser. Garcia, Pixler, and Johnson were wearing seatbelts. Jacobson was not wearing a seatbelt. Lanes were blocked for approximately three and a half hours. The crash is still under investigation.
