Update From Superintendent Wade Wilson on WHS Incident

September 27, 2022

Dear WSD Parents, Patrons, and Staff,

This morning a staff member at WHS was notified by a student that they observed what appeared to be a weapon located inside a locker at WHS. The staff member immediately secured the location and turned the item over to school administration who notified law enforcement and Weiser High School was put on a “hold” status, meaning students and staff were kept in classrooms.

Upon investigation the item was determined to be a bb gun.

Law enforcement determined conditions to be safe and secure at WHS and the “hold” was removed and business as usual was returned at approximately 11:30 am.

The investigation by law enforcement and by school officials is ongoing.

As always, we encourage anyone who has a concern for school safety to immediately notify law enforcement, school administration, or an adult of their concern.

Respectfully,

Mr. Wilson, Superintendent
