Updates & Happenings at Angel Wings Network, Inc, June 2021

The volunteers at Angel Wings Network, Inc in Weiser have been busy with a lot of great things happening.  While under difficult circumstances for our members, we are blessed to be able to help cancer patients in need.  For those who are unfamiliar with what we do, Angel Wings Network, Inc is a 501c(3) nonprofit in Weiser, Idaho and we serve the cancer community within a 70-mile radius of Weiser, which includes approximately 17 rural communities.

Mabel Dobbs – executive director

It is always heartbreaking to have new cancer patients come into the office, especially those who are children.  As much of the community has heard, we are currently helping two young kids battling cancer.  Little Danni has a rare form of brain cancer and little Javier is fighting leukemia for the second time.  These two angels have been floating around social media a lot recently.  Volunteers at Angel Wings have wanted to step up and help as many other individuals and businesses also join hands to help these families during this difficult time.

Volunteers have been in contact with both families to provide support and resources.  Assistance with fundraising, meal trains, gas cards, and more has been extended.  Whenever we have the opportunity to help with a cancer patient, we strive to do the best we can.  It has been such a blessing to see the outpouring of support for these two beautiful kids.  We would like to thank everyone for their support of Angel Wings Network, Inc as well.  Without your support, we would not be able to help as many cancer patients as we do.  For anyone interested in volunteering at our organization or with fundraisers and future meal trains, please contact us.

We have some exciting news as well!  The St. Alphonsus Cancer Infusion Center has asked that we restart our in-person outreach program once again.  This program is a big piece of what we do, and it was unfortunately shut down during COVID.  Now that restrictions are being lifted, our outreach volunteers will be able to go back and connect with patients during their infusions to offer support and services.  After 15 months of not being able to do this, we are thrilled to get this started again!

Our organization has been able to add several new transport drivers, which is a tremendous help now that we are transporting more and more patients to and from treatment.  With more drivers, this will help us to better serve the outlying areas.  There will be an upcoming driver training course in Payette on June 17th, 2021.  If you are interested in volunteering as a transport driver, please get in touch with Mabel Dobbs at the office (208) 414-9464.

The Idaho Gives Event & Auction was a HUGE success, and we wish to extend our gratitude to everyone who made this event possible.  We could not have asked for a better turnout.  THANK YOU!!!

Angel Riders

The next event coming up for Angel Wings Network, Inc is the annual Fiddle Parade, which we are excited to attend this year!  The Angel Riders will be representing on their horses with cancer awareness flags.  Be sure to give them a wave!  You might also see some goodies tossed to the parade crowd, so you won’t want to miss it.

For more information on our organization, what we do, how we can help, or how YOU can help, please reach out to us.  Or you can visit the website at www.angelwingsnetwork.net.  Also find us on Facebook and Instagram.  We keep our Facebook updated with all kinds of photos, events, and more.
