Monday, April 10th the Weiser City Council approved and passed ordinances that annexed two pieces of property, extending Weiser’s borders. Both properties are located south of Weiser just over the Weiser River Bridge.
Ordinance 1264 annexed property on the west side of Highway 95. Planning and Zoning held a public hearing on February 21st to hear public comment and then recommended the city approve the annexation. At April’s city council meeting the council approved the annexation with the condition that a development agreement be approved. This property is the proposed site for a new Maverik.
Ordinance 1265 was approved at the council meeting, annexing the property on the east side of Highway 95 pending approval of the development agreement. This location is the proposed site for a future RV Park. The City Council felt the annexations complied with the city’s comprehensive plan and approved both under the condition that both properties get approval on their development agreements. Mayor Randy Hibberd stated, “The development agreement has to go before P&Z for their approval before any development can take place.”
During April’s council meeting a proposed business subdivision was brought before the city council. The property in question is located across from Ridley’s Family Market and next door to the new Family General. The council listened to detail on the proposed subdivision and then gave their approval to subdivide the property.
