Weiser High School Students Invited to HP by Dylan Erlebach

By Joseph Endicott

A few weeks ago, 10 members of Mr. Endicott’s Exploration of Computer Science class (Coding) went on a trip to the HP facility in Boise. There we were able to experience firsthand the working environment of a technology business, how they package and test the packaging of their products, their 3D printing facilities, some of the more tedious aspects of making their technology, and the delicious cafeteria, among other things. HP also had many facilities to help give their employees the most comfortable working experience available. Some of the facilities that they had included several basketball courts, a giant chess board, snack stations, break rooms, a cafeteria with 100’s of options for food, healthy and not healthy, and a state of the art gym with everything you need ranging from squat racks to spin cycles. After the trip was over we decided to interview a few of the students when asked if they learned anything Christian Villa responded with “yes”. We then asked Josh Magana if he would enjoy working there, in response to that question Josh said “I think I would I think I would”. The final person we asked was Damia Mosely, we asked her what her favorite part of the trip was, she then told us that our favorite part was “when we visited the acoustics room, and the 3D printing facilities”. Overall it was an extremely fun and interesting trip, and hopefully we have the chance to do it again sometime.

Weiser High School would like to thank the folks at HP and PTech for making this trip possible.
