2nd Inmate In The Payette County Jail Facility Tested Positive For COVID-19

News Release From The Office Of The Payette County Sheriff

On July 14, 2020 Payette County was notified by Idaho Health and Welfare that a second inmate in the Payette County Jail Facility has tested positive for COVID-19. The inmate is a 32-year-old male. The inmate was arrested on July 2, 2020. This individual has been asymptomatic during the time that he has been in custody in our jail facility. This individual was released from custody on bond on July 14, 2020.
The Payette County Jail implemented several preventative measures after receiving confirmation of their first positive COVID-19 case. These preventative measures include screening, monitoring, testing, and sanitizing in the jail facility. The Payette County Sheriff’s Office and Payette County Emergency Management working with the Southwest District Health and our medical professionals as we continue to respond to the concerns of COVID-19 within our Jail Facility.
