January 22, 2017 at 10:38 the Weiser City Fire Department was dispatched to 800 W. Galloway for a carport collapse with a man trapped underneath it. The Weiser Rural Fire Department was requested to respond for manpower & extrication due to City Fire Department being out of district at the Airport shoveling off a city building. The two Departments had great team work and were able to extricate the man in about a half hour. The trapped man was transported with an injured leg.
