Clinton Schnider Obituary

Clinton Schnider passed away at his home on December 4th, 2023 surrounded by his family at the age of 91. Clinton was born in Cottonwood, Idaho to Henry and Lilly Schnider on February 1, 1932 where he lived on a small farm with his three brothers. He attended Cottonwood High school and would proudly tell the story about how he bought his first car a 1928 Model A Ford for 150.00 dollars. He would entertain the family with stories of the shenanigans he and his brothers got up to with that car. In 1952 he enlisted in the Army during the Korean war and was assigned to the Pentagon. He later was assigned to Fort Meade in Maryland as the Acting Company Commander. After his discharge from the army in 1954, he moved back to Idaho where he and his first wife Donna, and his children, lived in Mountain home, Bonners Ferry and eventually moved to Weiser, Idaho. Clinton had many careers over his lifetime, Farmer, Rancher, Grease Monkey, Military Police Officer, Banker and in Manufactured Home Sales. He was a hard worker and took pride in doing his job well and treating people the right way. He married his second wife Gail in 1978 and they have resided in Weiser for the last 45 years. Clinton loved to hunt, camp and most of all he loved to fish. He spent many a day in his bass boat fishing at Hells Canyon and Brownlee Reservoir. He also loved a good road trip and he and Gail covered a lot of country over the years. He is preceded in death by parents Henry and Lilly Schnider, brothers Del Roy and wife Janine Schnider, Clifford Schnider, and Errol Schnider. He is survived by his children Jon Schnider (Brenda), Jeff Schnider, Cindi Crumm, Diann Martin (Jim) and Jay Davis (Diann), He is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces . Clinton did not wish to have a funeral instead a celebration of life for families and friends will be held at a later date. Donations in his name can be made to the Weiser Memorial Hospital where he received exemplary care over the years. Thank you, dad, for always taking the fish off my hook and being such a wonderful father and husband. You will be missed.
