Delton Walker Announces Re-Election Campaign for Washington County Prosecutor

Posted January 17, 2023

Delton Walker has announced his re-election campaign for Washington County Prosecutor. He has practiced law in Washington County for 24 years, including 10 years as a county public defender and a private practice attorney. Walker was elected County Prosecutor in 2008, and has faithfully served Washington County residents for the past 15 years.

Walker has assembled a team of experienced deputy prosecutors to serve Washington County alongside him. Fred Wheeler has practiced law for 29 years, the last 15 of which have been prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors in Washington County with Walker. Joshua Dolton has 19 years of prosecutorial experience and joined the prosecutor’s office last year to assist with County and City of Weiser criminal matters.

Excellent work by Law enforcement, alongside Walker, Wheeler and Dolton, has led to Weiser being ranked among the safest small towns in America in 2021.

As a resident of Washington County for over 50 years and a graduate of Weiser High School, Walker’s roots run deep in the county he serves. Raising seven children in Weiser, he not only understands the area but is personally invested in its safety. When not engaged in civic service, Walker serves as a pro bono legal advisor on the boards of the Weiser Fiddle Contest, Weiser Chamber of Commerce, and Senior Center.

Deputy prosecutors Fred Wheeler and Joshua Dolton are also committed to Washington County for the long-term. Dolton is raising his children in Weiser, serves on the Rose Advocates Board, and coaches youth sports. Wheeler raised his family in Weiser and often assists with the Weiser Little Theater. Having called Washington County home for many years, Walker, Wheeler, and Dolton are deeply invested in its safety and rule of law.

Walker’s service as county prosecutor underscores his commitment to safety and justice, built on experience and genuine local engagement. Walker looks to win the Republican primary election on May 21st, ensuring that he and his team will continue their dedicated service as county and deputy prosecutors.
