I attended the County Commissioner meeting today March 15, 2021. I was appalled at what I witnessed. One of the Commissioners called a meeting to discuss the adoption of changes to the County code. The same Commissioner who called the meeting immediately moved to cancel the hearing that should have been held a few months ago, but was canceled because of the covid virus. There were hundreds of people wanting to testify on the hearing, represented by the Farm Bureau and signed petitions. The motion passed 2 to 1. The people attending the meeting interrupted and demanded the 2 Commissioners recant their decision. The Chairman said he would abstain so it would not pass. When it was pointed out to him that it would not pass, he changed his vote so the motion passed. I think I witnessed illegal actions as well as total incompetency displayed by our 2 County Commissioners. We the people need to be heard and our County Codes need to be updated. I think we the people should consider recalling Commissioner Haines because of incompetency and trying to cancel the people from testifying about the future of our County.
