Man Fell Into A Well

Washington County Sheriff Matt Thomas Press Release

On March 1, 2021 at 10:31 am, Washington County Dispatch received a 911 call of a male subject, Freddy Hale, that had fallen in a well and was trapped. The man was lifting the cover off of the well pit when it broke and caused him to lose his footing and fell into the well pit.

When deputies and paramedics arrived on scene they found the man head first in about a 7 foot deep well pit. The man was trapped between well piping and could not move.

Weiser Rural Fire Department arrived on scene and was able to cut away the piping enough to free the man and lift him out of the pit. The man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries sustained in the fall.
