May is National Electrical Safety Month, and Idaho Power is sharing ways to keep your home and loved ones safe:
- Inspect your power cords — including any outside — and replace damaged or frayed cords.
- Stay away from power lines when pruning trees, flying kites or drones, and just in general; assume all lines are energized and dangerous.
- Call 811 if you’re planning on digging in your yard. Call least two days before you wish to dig to locate underground utility lines for free.
May is also National Water Safety Month. If you’re going to cool off, go boating or catch fish at Idaho Power reservoirs along the Snake River, learn how to stay safe around dams at idahopower.com/watersafety.
