Sassy Styles Street Party Raises $1,900 for Unpaid School Lunches

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, two beloved local businesses, Sassy Woman Boutique and Styles Hair Studio, have joined forces to create something truly special – Sassy Styles. This fusion of fashion and hair expertise isn’t just about looking good; it’s about doing good. And that’s exactly what they accomplished with the recent Sassy Styles Street Party.

But this event wasn’t a solo effort. Sassy Styles rallied the support of other esteemed establishments like Weiser Classic Candy, Horizon Credit Union, and Rustic Ranch Nursery. Together, they orchestrated a vibrant street party that brought smiles, laughter, and camaraderie to the heart of our town. The cherry on top was a thrilling cornhole tournament that had both the young and the young-at-heart engaged in friendly competition.

The driving force behind this event, Sierra Wilson and Katrina Alburto, were overwhelmed by the remarkable response they received from fellow businesses and the community. The event’s primary aim was to make a difference, and that’s exactly what they achieved by raising an impressive $1,900 for the Weiser School District to address the issue of unpaid school lunches.

A standout contributor to this noble cause was Patrick Nauman of Weiser Classic Candy. Recognizing the significance of the event, he pledged 50% of all ice cream sales, effectively adding another $400 to the original $1,500 contribution. This selfless act of giving exemplifies the compassion that resides within our local entrepreneurs.

The Sassy Styles Street Party wasn’t merely about numbers; it was a testament to the unity and empathy that defines our community. The newly appointed Weiser School District Superintendent, Kenneth Dewlin, attended the event and couldn’t help but express his admiration. He commended the event’s organizers, attendees, and the decision to allocate the proceeds to unpaid school lunches, emphasizing that “it will go to good use.”

Misty Moscoffian, the Weiser School Food Service Director, expressed her gratitude to the businesses and community members who wholeheartedly stepped up for the welfare of children and families in need. The funds raised will undoubtedly provide substantial support where it’s most required.

As the Sassy Styles Street Party demonstrated, when local businesses collaborate and the community stands together, remarkable things can happen. The event was a resounding success, not only in terms of the funds raised but also in the smiles shared and the bonds strengthened. It’s a heartening reminder that the soul of a community lies in its unity and its commitment to making the world a better place, one event at a time.
