By C. Lawrence
Sgt.  Ben Thomason of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash at Appleton Lane and Highway 95 on October 8th, 2020.  A white Chevy Tahoe was found in the barrow pit with several people around the vehicle.  Medics were on scene checking all occupants.  Vehicle had been driven by a female minor without a license and three other passengers were involved.
Minor stated that they were headed south bound on Highway 95 and tried to make the turn at Appleton Lane.  The individual stated that the brakes locked up and they skidded into the pole.  According to Thomason, the Tahoe made contact with the pole and came to a stop about 10 yards away.  The vehicle had a broken rear window and scratches on the side.  Driver received a citation for not having a license and was released.  Owner of the vehicle was called to come pick up the vehicle.  No injuries were reported.
