Suicidal Man With A Handgun Made Threats

Weiser Police were dispatched to a suicidal man with a handgun who made threats to others on W.2nd Street this afternoon.

Upon arrival , the male barricaded himself upstairs. Responding Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted in cordoning the area and assisting with negotiations. After approximately three hours of negotiation, the male was eventually subdued by officers and deputies safely ending the stand off.

The area is safe and there is no further cause for alarm. Thank you to deputies from the Washington county Sheriff’s office and off duty officer who responded. If you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis, please call the crisis hotline or visit your nearest emergency room.
