Neighborhoods throughout Weiser are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 17 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide for the annual National Night Out event. The event will take place on August 1st, 2023 in Weiser’s City Park located on Court Street. The Weiser Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor this local initiative along with other local organizations.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that aims to foster strong police-community partnerships and promote neighborhood camaraderie, making our communities safer and more caring places to live and work. We have included other 1st Responders and community members. By locking their doors, turning on their front porch lights, and spending the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement, residents demonstrate their commitment to creating safer neighborhoods.
In addition to the traditional front porch vigils and outside lights, the local National Night Out event in Weiser will feature various community activities such as block party with a festival atmosphere and safety demonstrations. The event will provide opportunities for attendees to participate in youth events, interact with emergency personnel, and explore informative exhibits.
According to National Project Coordinator Matt Peskin, “This is a night for our nation to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement. When law enforcement and the community work closely together, amazing things can happen.”
