Weiser High’s Andrew Enders Signs Letter of Intent To Play Football for The College of Idaho

Monday, February 6th Weiser High senior Andrew Enders signed his letter of intent to play football for the College of Idaho. Not only did Enders receive a scholarship to play ball for the College of Idaho, he also received the highest merit scholarship offered which gives him almost a full ride for the next four years. Weiser High Athletic Director, Tyler Grant, shared that Enders is the first Weiser High student to be signed to the College of Idaho since the school brought back their football program ten years ago.

The College of Idaho was one of the schools on the top of  Enders list due to its high academic standards and distance from the family. “I went and visited and really loved the school and the facility. I really fell in love with the coaches too. I also love the education side as well because academics are really a big deal for me. It is also really close to home. I want to be able to watch my siblings play their sports and just be close to family. I love the school and can’t wait to be a Yote,” stated Enders.

Since flag football Enders has loved the sport. He explained he loved the feeling of going out on the field and having the community and his family see what “he is made of”. Enders stated “Football has been a part of my life since I was real young and it’s a part of me and who I am.” The College of Idaho football program is currently heavy on quarterbacks, Enderes’ position for the Weiser Wolverines, so he will not start his college career in that position. The hope is that he will have the possibility to move into that role after he gets some experience playing for the team. His mother, Nikki Enders, shared that he possibly would be coming in as a Defensive Back.

Since Enders was a small child he has pursued an interest in business. Nikki Enders shared that her son is already an entrepreneur, “He has sold Christmas trees since he was 5. This is his thirteenth year doing that. He started with 30 trees and this year had 185 trees and sold out. He also sells fireworks and has his own firework stand. He started that three years ago. Six months ago he started a drone business where he does videos for real estate agents and contractors.” Enders himself stated,“I am always looking for new opportunities to help people, make money and spread the love of Jesus.”

Enders plans to continue looking for those opportunities, “I have always loved finance. I am going to get a Digital Marketing and Media Major and I want to minor in finance and communications. Ultimately I want to own my own successful business.” Enders is not waiting until he finishes his education to get started, he shared that he is looking into purchasing property that he can flip, live in and rent out until he is finished with school and can sell it.

Enders grew up and went to school in Nyssa, Oregon before deciding to come to Weiser for his senior year, “I would like to say thank you to the community for accepting me and making me feel like family.” He continued saying, “Jesus is my Lord and Savior and he is the reason that ultimately led me to the decision of going to C of I. That’s the biggest thing in my life, Jesus.”
