Weiser Public Library Is Going Fine Free For Overdue Books!

This week the Weiser Public Library announced on their Facebook page that they will no longer be giving fines for overdue books. In fact if you have any previous overdue charges you no longer are required to pay them.

On their page they line out how future overdue books will be handled, “Items that are kept 10 days past their due date will be considered lost and patrons will be charged for the replacement of the item plus a $5 processing fee.” The library shared that the fee will be waived when the item has been returned, noting that if the item is not returned within a 100 days, “that item is removed from our records and it belongs to the person who did not return it. That person must pay for the item replacement and processing fee.” The Weiser Public Library also stated that if anyone has a charge of $10 or more they will have their library card privileges suspended until their account is addressed.
