The Weiser Elks Deliver Boxes Of Happiness

By Zoe Luke

For as long as The Elks have been in Weiser, they have gladly given too so many who are in need. They “serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks care and Elk’s share.” The Elks are here for the community, the kids, our veterans and during the holidays they try to help as many as the can who are in need.

As a tradition the Elks gives food boxes to the members of our community. This process starts in September and through October collecting the canned food. Once everything is all collected, they are put together and delivered by twenty volunteers. This process takes about five hours in total. 140 boxes of food were delivered this year. Ken the Leader of the Elk’s mentioned that this year they saw an increase in donations over past years.

If you are interested in being a part of an organization that does so much for our community, look into being a part of this great organization. Call (208) 549-9922
